I heard of many stories about God since childhood because I was born in a Christian family. But even so, I did not really live in the way of God. During my teenage years, I lived a very difficult life. I did not go to school as I preferred to hang out with my friends. Eventually, I left school to work in the city. I fell into many sins and missed many opportunities in my life.
However, at one point in my life, I became aware of something: I did not want to live a life that caused my mother to worry for me anymore. I was 17 years old when I finally returned home to my family.
My mother took me to church and I became more involved in the church service. One day, a team from Cru visited our church to conduct some activities. I decided to believe in God wholeheartedly. I did not want to go to church just because my mother took me there. Instead, I wanted to follow God more seriously and willingly with all my heart.
Ever since, I felt much closer to God. There were times when I still fell back into sins and made mistakes. Yet, I prayed to God to help me to keep on living in His way. As a result, God blessed me in many ways.
I had one experience with God in mid-April 2021. I had a stomach ache and had to be hospitalised. The doctor told me that I had intestinal fibrosis so I had to undergo surgery. There was a lot of fear as I was rushed to a major hospital for treatment. But God was there and He brought me through the whole ordeal. He provided my family with much support and encouragement from many other Christians. Today, my health is much better.
I want to thank God for taking care of me. He is never so far away. He shows me that He has a plan and purpose for my life.

Dear Pete, I am glad to learn of your resolve to live a life following the steps of Christ our Lord. We praise God for His mercy, grace and love that surround us daily.
