HOPE TO BE ALIVE

Updated: Oct 7

by Sunanta Oudsayna (Nang), Kamtakka Methodist Church, Thailand.

I had shortness of breath - a chronic ailment that made me go to the hospital and clinic. The doctor told me that I had gastric reflux, and just gave me some medicine and an injection. However, I did not get better.

As someone who was not born as a Christian, I went to see a shaman. He asked for worship offerings, and I did as he said. However, I still did not recover. I decided to shave and become a nun. After several months of religious observance at the temple, I still did not get well. So, I went home.

One day, I heard that a group of Christians came to evangelise. I asked to join in the activity. There, the Christian brothers and sisters prayed for me. On that day, I felt satisfied and had a sense of hope in life. A hope that I was alive.

Two to three days later, Arjan Uttaporn, who is the Pastor of Kamtakka Methodist Church, came with some church members to visit and encourage me at my house. On that day, I received the Lord. I was 50 years old at that time.

Since then, my health condition has progressively improved. Thanks be to God, now my illness is completely gone. My health is good. Even though I am now 63, I have good strong health. Every day, the Lord blesses me with a peaceful life. I wish to invite others to seek the Lord. God can help us in everything that we cannot solve because God is Lord. May the Lord bless you all.
