by Nob Manin, Member of Chress Methodist Church, Cambodia.
My name is Nob Manin. I am 31 years old. I am a church member of Chress Methodist Church since 2012, and I am involved with the Flourish Ministry as a co-ordinator.
Previously, I was not interested in the Flourish Ministry, and I did not have a flair for crocheting or sewing. However, one day, everything changed.
The Flourish Ministry was on the verge of being suspended as there was no one to coordinate the project. The then missionary Tan Li Diang, who was overseeing this ministry, approached me to help out. At that time, I did not respond, but I committed the matter to the Lord in prayer. After some time of prayer, I felt God tugged at my heart and wanted me to serve in this ministry.
When I first started serving, I was worried and fearful because of my inexperience. I prayed to God for help, and He answered my prayer by sending a team from the Flourish Ministry in Singapore, to help with the designs, the working processes, and other matters.
The Flourish Ministry soon began to proceed well. As my responsibilities included providing spiritual support to the Flourish women as well as service in church, I felt I needed to equip myself. So I decided to take up a Certificate of Ministry Course at the Cambodian Methodist Bible School. I sought help from the Singapore Flourish team, and they provided financial support. With their help, I completed the course after a year. I was granted a licence to preach, and am now actively serving in church as well as in the Flourish Ministry.
Praise the Lord for paving the way, equipping me, and enabling me to serve Him. I thank God for His faithfulness, His provision for all my needs, and His grace in my life through the Flourish Ministry. I have also learnt much from serving. I have learnt to be united in the task that God has given, to love one another, to support and encourage one another (Psalm 145:9), and to build God’s kingdom. I am also always reminded of Susanna Wesley’s words, “I am content to fill a little space if God be glorified”, and that has kept me going.
Finally, I hope that through what we do in the Flourish Ministry, we can praise God and glorify Him by touching the lives of the women and their families, and bringing about transformation.
Note of thanks to the Flourish Ministry Singapore team in Barker Road Methodist Church: I would like to represent all the Flourish women in Chress Methodist Church, to say a big “Thank You” to you, for working so hard to bring this ministry to Cambodia and for blessing the Cambodian women to have a living. May God bless you abundantly.
